Carolina Panthers running back Miles Sanders sustained a foot/ankle injury in the second quarter of Sunday’s Week 10 international matchup against the New York Giants at Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany.

During his second rushing attempt, the sixth-year veteran went down in what appeared to be a serious injury to his left leg. Sanders was carted off the field without putting any weight on the leg at all; he was later out of the game  with a foot/ankle injury. Carolina went on to win 20-17 in an overtime victory over the Giants.

Sanders was signed to a four-year, $25.4 million deal last offseason –  his second campaign with the Panthers. In 2023, the former Philadelphia Eagle rushed for only 432 yards and one touchdown on 129 carries.

Newly acquired RB Chuba Hubbard took over for Sanders, entering the game fresh off signing a four-year, $33.2 million extension with the team.
